
Línea Directa proposes to the shareholders' meeting the appointment of two new high-profile digital, technological, and marketing directors
- The Board of Directors of Línea Directa Aseguradora will submit to the vote of the General Shareholders' Meeting of the entity, to be held on April 10, the proposal to incorporate Marina Specht Blum and Iñaki Berenguer Mediavilla as independent external directors, both with extensive experience and successful careers in the fields of digitalization, technology, digital marketing, and the insurance sector at national and international levels.
- The incorporation of both Directors into the highest governing body will strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of Línea Directa, a company at the technological forefront of the Spanish insurance sector, in key areas for its transformation and growth strategy.
Madrid, 3 March 2025.- Línea Directa Aseguradora has convened the General Shareholders' Meeting for April 10 in Tres Cantos (Madrid). The Board of Directors of the entity will submit several items on the agenda for approval, including the proposal to appoint two new independent external Directors: Marina Specht Blum and Iñaki Berenguer Mediavilla.
Both have successful careers and proven executive experience in areas of special relevance to the strategy, business, and transformation of Línea Directa, mainly in digital, technological, and digital marketing fields, as well as in the insurance sector at national and international levels.
Marina Specht Blum holds a degree in Communication and International Journalism from Newcastle University and various postgraduate degrees from IMD, ISDI, IE University, and MIT. She is currently the non-executive President of McCann Worldgroup Europe, a company where she previously served as CEO for four years.
She also has a long career in international insurance groups. Additionally, she is a non-executive member of the CEOE and Save the Children boards and a member of the Adigital Board of Directors.
Iñaki Berenguer Mediavilla, a Telecommunications Engineer with a Master's and PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is Managing Partner at the venture capital fund LifeX Ventures and non-executive President of iPronics Programmable Photonics, which offers services in Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure. He is also an advisory board member of the Rafael del Pino Foundation, President of the Iñaki Berenguer Foundation, and a guest lecturer at MIT.
Previously, he was the founder and CEO of CoverWallet in the United States, a disruptive technology startup in the insurance sector, and Klink in the telecommunications and technology sector. He also held positions of responsibility at HP, Intel, Microsoft, and McKinsey.
The incorporation of both into the Board of Directors, if approved by the General Shareholders' Meeting, will bring Línea Directa Aseguradora new knowledge, capabilities, and experience in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data, digital marketing, new business strategies, and innovation in digital products. These are areas where Línea Directa has been at the forefront of the Spanish insurance sector for its 30 years of activity and constitute a fundamental pillar in the new strategy of transformation and growth of Línea Directa.
